The Staff would like to take time to get to know the teams in our league this year. We will spotlight a different team each week of the season. We came up with a few random questions to ask each team. The third Season Spotlight will focus on the league's #5 ranked team (after week 3),

the Wyoming Outlaws. These are the answers we got from team owner, Joel Marler.

1-What are the things you love/hate most about being a GM?

Love: The fun of seeing a team come together and become a family.

Hate: Not enough time or money to “do it right”.

2-How did you feel about the squad before the season started this year?

We had a good group of core players returning and some good looking new guys, however still struggle with good practices and consistent attendance.

​

3-Do you have a rival team in the league? Who is it? 

Elko and Oilers….took care of that…lol...referring to both teams no longer being in the RMFL.

​

4-What is your best road trip memory? 

Playing in Elko with 11 guys.

​

5-What is the worst game you have ever played as a team? 

We played the Brigham Sting at SASA and got beat 72+ to maybe 6? Sucked especially when they passed on us with 10 seconds left.

6-Why do you do this and what made you want to own/run a team? 

For the money! Lol. I’m a football fan and proud dad. My son has played for 20 years. Little league, High School, College. Pretty sure I only missed three or four games. His friends have become my friends and they let me coach’. 

 

7-What were some other names you came up with for the team before Outlaws? 

Drunks, Dumbs Shits, Special Needs. The team started out as the Wyoming Thunder. I found an outlaw logo and went from there.

8-If you weren't running the Outlaws, what would you do with that time? 

Fish

9-Do you have a favorite player? Is he your best player? 

Whoever shows up to games are my favorite players.
