Its finally here! Week 1. Forget all thedrama before the season. Its football season. It looks to be another great year for the RMFL!

#1 Anarchy @ #6 EXTREME @ 3:00 pm.

Anarchy are looking to defend their Great North Title from last season. They return almost every player from last season and have added a couple new players. This includes the reigning MVP, Jarik May as well as a defense that only gave up 64 points in 2017. The Anarchy have been known to travel poorly on road trips and travel is the great equalizer. Billings Xtreme narrowly missed the playoffs last season. Rumors of a "legend" returning to play qb have swirled around. Last season, Dederick Bergen made lots of plays with his arm and legs and was responsible for most of The Xtreme offense. The Xtreme are very talented but have yet to get over the hump. If they can knock off the returning champs it would be a great start to their season. Montana weather might play a big factor this weekend. No prediction here ( Anarchy #% Xtreme 13)

#5 Mustangs @ #3 VIGILANTES @ 3:00 pm.

The Idaho Mustangs looked poised for a playoff run, last season. After thumping the Wyoming Outlaws at the end of the regular season, they got knocked off in Wyoming the next week in overtime. The Mustangs have a bunch of new players but return the core from last season. They also have a new qb from Missoula, Montana  that travels to Idaho Falls every week. Talk about commitment. The Mustangs have always been a qb away from being really good so maybe the Montana kid can send the Mustangs to the 'ship. The Tri-County Gladiators.....I mean Vigilantes made the most off season noise by merging with the folding Great Falls Gladiators. The Gladiators had 40 players in the championship last season. Merging with the VIgilantes, that suspiciously forfeited their playoff game last season, is going to be a team to reckon with. The Vigilantes have numbers and some really good players but in this league, chemistry counts for a lot. Sometimes, 20 players is better than 40. The Mustangs don't usually travel well. Last year, the Mustangs traveled to Helena and it didn't go well for them. This game could go either way but I think the home team has the advantage.

#7 Stampede @ #8 OUTLAWS @ 3:00 pm. S

The Stampede is a new team with new uniforms, new players and a new owner. I have to admit I don't know anything about the Stampede. They have plenty of talent and could beat anyone in the league, but after a promising start last season that ended in a disappointment, the Stampede may have some growing pains this year. Hopefully they can end on a positive note. The Outlaws, led by Hugo Herrera and John Herrera are a talented bunch. I watched these guys in the all star game and they can ball. Outlaws rebounded well at the end of the season to knock off the Mustangs but then traveled to Great Falls for a whoopin', (6-42).  The sOutlaws benefited from playing two teams last year twice who weren't very good and now they have to get their wins against higher level competition. It wont happen this week. ( Logan 32-Wyoming 12)

#2 Vipers @ #4 COBRAS @ 3:00 pm * Game of the Week*

I don't know much about either team. Jaye's Cobras and Rex's Vipers been keeping a low profile. The Vipers have been playing the "big dogs" the last couple years and haven't had a whole lots of success but I think their win last year in SASA 2,  against the Xtreme says a lot about them. They have the numbers and talent to win a championship this season. The Cobras, who got knocked out of the playoffs last season by the Anarchy, have tons of talent as well. I visited Jaye in January at a practice and it looked like they have a bunch of dudes who can run and they seem to have really good numbers. The big question is who will be the qb? They had Captain America, the ageless wonder, Brad Thurber last season and he said he isn't playing but we all know what " RMFL retirement means". A lot of people are really anxious to see who is on each team's roster. Some are wondering if some names from other teams have made it on the Vipers or Cobras. The winner of this game could easily be holding the trophy at the end of the year and with the division. With the playoff structure how it is,  this is a "must win" for both teams.

(Vipers 30-Cobra 20)
