WEEK 2

(FULL/ORIGINAL VERSION IS ON OUR FACEBOOK PAGE)

After week 1 we learned a couple things. Number 1, the weather can shut down a football game. That is unheard of. I don't think it has ever happened in the RMFL before. The Mustangs versus the Vigilantes game got rescheduled to Memorial Day weekend. That's one battle I don't envy. Can you imagine fighting with your wife, and in laws about going camping with her side of the family OR playing in your football game? It will be interesting to see how teams travel that weekend. Secondly, we also learned that I don't know anything. I went 0-3 on my predictions last week. Maybe this week I can redeem myself.

Vipers @ ANARCHY

The Vipers lost to the Utah Cobras 28-21, last week. It was 28-7 at half but I think the weather played huge a factor last week and it is hard to tell how good the Cobras are. The Vipers qb, Coltan Land threw for 180 yards and 2 tds in the crap weather which says a lot. The Vipers also had 4 turnovers. Special teams must have played a huge part in this game but I have noticed that the Vipers roster is LOADED. At least on paper it is. They have Levine Tupe, Shane Dooley and Justin Oswald on their roster. These dudes are legends in the RMFL. Levine is still better, at 40 years old, than any other MLB in the league. Please, don't kill me sir. The other names are from the old Rhino Raiders' days. For those who dont know, think of all the best players to ever play and that's who the Rhinos were. The Vipers picked up some big names in the off season! Also, the Vipers had good numbers from Sage Stireman. Is he related to the GOAT,  RMFL Rhino Radier qb Dave Stireman? I heard that some of these dudes weren't at the game versus the Cobras and I assume they must not have been, it would be really hard to score 28 points on that roster. The Anarchy picked up right where they left off last season. They ran the ball effectively, had some well timed play action passes and played really tough defense. The Anarchy had over 300 yard offense and forced 4 turnovers while not giving one up.  Kudos to the Xtreme for choosing to travel to Idaho rather than reschedule the game. There is no doubt that favored the Anarchy. The Vipers have to travel to Idaho and I have no idea how travel effects the Vipers but it should be a "tough guy" game that could go either way. No prediction here (Anarchy % Vipers 13)

Stampede @ MONSTERS
The Stampede must be rebuilding. The roster is full of mostly new names but an old name, Flash Gordan is playing qb for them. It is usually not a great recipe when a guy that isn't normally a qb and he switches to qb. They do have Mike Jenkins on the roster and he can still play. Normally the Stampede 's reputation is that they can always put up points but struggle defensively . This first game they could only muster 8 points and gave up 25 to the Outlaws. It might be a long season but anything can change in a week and I believe they can rebound. There is nothing like an 8 hour road trip to help put things into perspective. The Monsters may have picked up some dudes from the short lived Missoula Rage team. I guess we will see. I am going with the home team on this one. Monsters 20 Stampede 6.

Outlaws @ COBRAS. Alright Outlaws, you got a quality win in week 1 but the Cobras have a lot of talent plus they got ol' Hans Hatchett out of retirement. That dude does a great job of extending plays. He can throw and run just enough to cause you problems. Scoring points may be tough. The Cobras defense is full of dudes who look like they spend all day in the gym and the bar. They are big, physical, and nasty. Vipers run game against them was nill but the Outlaws' Herrera brothers have proved that they can dominate a game. They accounted for the bulk of the offense against the Stampede but Outlaws' wr Jacob Snow had two catches for 2 touchdowns and 87 yards. That must mean the Outlaws can hit the long ball. The Cobras had a kickoff returned for a td and were leading a good Vipers team 28-7 at half. Outlaws, get a win this week and you might be ranked number 1. Cobras 28-Outlaws 12.

Vigilantes @ XTREME *Game of the Week*

The Vigilantes travel to the Xtreme this week. I haven’t heard reports of the weather and snow but it could still play a huge factor. The game agsinst the Mustangs that the Vigilantes had to reschedule could hurt them this week. With all the new faces on the Vigilantes roster,I think it’s going to take time for them to come together as a team. However, the Vigilantes have the best players in Montana playing for them. J.J. Dorsch and Marshane Haynes are pretty dang good. Kevin Carter is hoping to lead the league in rushing this year. If the game was played on paper than you would probably say Vigilantes should win this game. The Xtreme got the "short end of the stick" with last week's weather predicament. They traveled to the Anarchy and lost 32-0. The Xtreme were missing quite a few of their key players but they still traveled with over 30 guys. They were missing 4-5 guys that could’ve really made a difference. The Xtreme struggled on offense but the Anarchy defense is really good. They threw 4 interceptions and fumbled twice, which resulted in a quarterback change at half time. Once they brought in Shaun Siderus, they moved the ball better but never made it to the red zone. However, having one game under their belt can come in handy. We are all rusty and nobody practiced as much as they should have. The Vigilantes used their day off to watch the Facebook live game of the Xtreme and Anarchy so they have a good idea of what to expect from the Xtreme.  A good offense in the league is hard. Everyone has a good defense. The reason the Vigilantes get the road win is because they can throw the ball and put points on the board. Vigilantes 27- Xtreme 13
