The Staff would like to take time to get to know the teams in our league this year. We will spotlight a different team each week of the season. We came up with a few random questions to ask each team. The second Season Spotlight will focus on the league's #2 ranked team (after week 2), the Davis Vipers. These are the answers I got from Rex Stacy.

1- What are the things you love/hate most about being a GM?

Being with the players.

 

2-How does the squad look for 2018? 

We feel like can compete.

3-Do you have a rival team in the league? If so, who is it?  

Yes. The Utah Cobras.

 

4-What is your best road trip memory?

Traveling to Montana in 2014 to play the Snow Devils. We won 14-6.

5-What is the worst game you have ever played as a team? 

2017 in the RMFL Big 5. The whole season

6-Why do you do this and what made you want to own/run a team? 

Because owners in the past did not live up to expectations.

7-As one of the longest standing teams in the league, what it the best advice you can give a new owner/gm? 

Never promise players things like playing for free, free jersey or being paid. A player that has not made an investment usually doesn't have the teams best interest at heart. I have seen many teams come and go and I hear they are paying players or sponsors are paying for everything. They last a season or two and then that team is gone. Also, if you can secure a field or two the hardest part is done. Work with high schools to get the field and make the school feel that you are treating their property like your own. Always be the last one to leave the field and never leave the stadium before the last administrator or school representative. Walk out together to make sure the issues are handled before you leave and ALWAYS pay your bills. Do NOT commit to something that does not feel right, Be consistent.  
 

8-If you weren't running the Vipers, what would you do with that time?
