Big Sky Avalanche-8, Billings Xtreme-65
Saturday, June 4, 2016
Daylis Stadium- Billings, Montana

The Billings Xtreme rolled past the Big Sky Avalanche on Saturday to clinch the 4th seed of the 2016 RMFL playoffs.  Most of the scoring for Billings came in the first half, and featured both defensive and offensive touchdowns.

Dedrick Bergen was the starter at the quarterback position for the Xtreme.  He would score the first points of the game on the ground for Billings to give them a 7-0 lead.

The Big Sky Avalanche answered with their only points of the game, as QB Brandon McBride found the endzone from a few yards out on a sneak up the middle.  McBride succeeded in finding the endzone again on the 2-point conversion with another sneak up the middle to give the Avalanche the lead, 8-7.

From that point on, the Xtreme would never look back in scoring 58 points to close the game.  Bergen accounted for 5 touchdowns, throwing 3 and rushing for 2.  He completed 10 of 13 passes for 295 yards through the air and rushed for 52 yards on 5 carries to lead the team in both categories.  Bergen’s targets consisted of WRs Jordan Tallon (4 REC, 150 yards, TD), Ryan Frank (3 REC, 79 yards, TD), and Joseph McCarthy (3 REC, 66 yards, TD).  Eddie Nelson also helped with the offensive scoring with a rushing touchdown.  Nelson finished with 44 rushing yards on 5 carries.

Defensively, the Xtreme were able to find points on two fumble recoveries for touchdowns.  The first was recovered off of a blocked punt by DE Tusi Ah-Mai and the second was obtained by CB Stephen Goodell.  Billings would lead at halftime, 45-8, and finished the game with three more touchdowns to seal the victory 65-8.

The Billings Xtreme will enter the 2016 RMFL playoffs as the #4 seed and look to host the #5 seed Mini Cassia Diggers at Daylis Stadium in Billings, MT this Saturday, June 11.
