In a game that pitted two of the best defenses in the league, it was as expected. The Vegas Trojans defense held the Sting offense in check the whole night only giving up 85 total yards of offense. What would offset that for the Sting was great field position off of forced turnovers.

The Sting were given the ball inside the Trojan 40 three times in a row in the first quarter on two of Sulu Seiuli's three forced fumbles on the day and an Andrew Robinson blocked punt which ultimately ended in a Jordan Wager to Brennen Alleman 11 yard touchdown pass. The PAT would be converted by Jordan Beyer giving the Sting a 7-0 lead going into the second quarter.

After some back and forth, the Trojans would make their best drive of the game resulting in a touchdown pass. The PAT would be blocked by the Sting's Trevor Barney. Going to halftime the Sting held a 7 - 6 lead.

The Trojans would take their first drive in the second half down inside the 10-yard line but the Sting defense held them to a field goal making the game 9 - 7 for the Trojans. Again there would be a lot of back and forth without much ball movement for the teams into the fourth quarter.

With about 6 minutes remaining in the game, a long Trojan pass would be picked off by Sting safety Alphonso Thompson which he would return 60 yards for a touchdown. After a missed two point try the Sting would lead 13 - 9.

The Trojans weren't done yet, as they would drive the ball deep into Sting territory.  However, the Trojans would turn the ball over on downs at the 8 yard line after a strong defensive stand by the Sting defense.

After a quick 3-and-out for the Sting, and a shanked punt into the wind, the Trojans would get the ball back under two minutes at the Sting 33-yard line. Once more, the Sting would hold them on downs. The Sting would be forced to punt again and with 5 seconds left the Trojans would try one last heave down to the end zone but the ball would be batted down by Mike Messinger as time expired.

Sting QB Jordan Wager finished 3-of-13 for 23 yards and a touchdown.  WR Brennen Alleman caught 2 of the 3 passes for 22 yards and a touchdown.  Mike Messinger led the rushing efforts with 30 yards on 14 carries followed by Wes Rees with 29 yards on 11 carries.

Shay Kaleikini led the Sting defense with 11 tackles and Kapena Clark also contributed with 10.5 tackles.  Andrew Robinson and Sulu Seiuli each had a sack apiece.

This week, the Vegas Trojans will travel to St. George, UT to face tough Zion Lion team that posted 82 points against the Raiders on Saturday.  The Brigham Sting will host the Utah Wildcats at Box Elder High School in Brigham City, UT.
