Wyoming Outlaws Preview

SEASON PREVIEW

2017 WYOMING OUTLAWS

The Wyoming Outlaws are preparing for their third season in the RMFL. 2017 promises to be an exciting and challenging year for the Outlaws. The number one challenge the team faces is preparation. The players are spread out over 300 square miles. We practice in two different locations, Rocksprings and Evanston, to reduce travel time and expense. Game days, in some cases, are the first times some players, play together. The team management is headed by team owner John Herrera. John is the driving force behind the Outlaws as well as the starting running back. Helping with team management, PR and coaching is Joel Marler. Nate Jeppsen heads up the defense as D coordinator. Nates passion for the game is displayed in his play as starting defensive end. Hugo Herrera returns as quarterback and offensive coordinator and Shad Anderson heads up special teams. The good news is the economy is taking off and oil and coal are being rejuvenated. The bad news is a lot of Outlaw players are back to work. The team lost several key players from previous seasons due to shift work and rehiring. However, a bunch of new, young, and talented athletes have signed up. The challenge is developing the team chemistry critical to success. The Outlaws are excited to be playing the 2017 home games in Kemmerer Wyoming. The high school has a beautiful field and the community is excited to watch some spring time football. This year’s schedule allows the team to play the premier teams in the RMFL Great North. This can be a bit intimidating, however the Wyoming Outlaws are a football family and accept the challenges of another football season.
