On Saturday, at rain-soaked Coronado High School, the Las Vegas Raiders hosted the Davis Vipers.  In a muddy, sloppy mess, the Raiders improved from a week one loss to the Utah Shock.

 

The Raiders offense, at times, moved the ball well.  But mistakes and weather cost the home team.  The Raiders defense improved drastically from week one as well.

 

In the end, the veteran Vipers capitalized on the inexperienced Raiders squad with point-on catches and key defensive plays.  It was a great game even under bad weather conditions.

 

Once again, both Raider quarterbacks struggled in conducting the offense.  QB Tim Fisher completed 4 of 8 passes for 25 yards and 4 interceptions.  QB DeMonte Haynesworth completed 3 of 7 passes for 30 yards and an interception.  RB Nchong Enokenwa rushed for 50 yards on 6 carries to lead the Raider backfield.  WRs Joey Gentile and Kendrick Glinton were the main targets in the receiving corps.  Gentile caught 2 passes for 20 yards and Glinton caught one for 10 yards.

 

The Raiders defense was led by Derrick Grissett and Ben Keliikoa with 10 tackles apiece.  Keliikoa added 3 sacks to his performance.  Nick Theodore and John Paul Gludt contributed on defense as well.  Theodore had 9 tackles with a tackle for loss and Gludt had 8 tackles with a sack.

 

This week, the Davis Vipers will travel to Taylorsville, UT to face the Wasatch Revolution, who defeated the Utah Wildcats 31-22 on Saturday.  The Las Vegas Raiders will host their third straight home game in Henderson, NV as they face the Brigham Sting, who were defeated 27-22 by the Utah Shock last week.
