The game started out with the Diggers having the ball.  They were chopping away with runs and quick passes.  Once the Diggers were on their own 40 on a third down, the Anarchy defense stiffened and forced a punt.

Anarchy’s first offensive drive was back and forth.  They would make it to their own 40 before having to punt as well.

The teams exchanged possessions with each team not getting close to their red zones.  The Diggers got a big play from WR Angel Anguiano by catching a 40-yard pass from QB AJ Hunter.  After a couple of hard runs and quick passes, Hunter found WR Hayden Thacker for a 5-yard touchdown pass.

The Anarchy could not get their passing game going but did have their running game making fairly big gains.  Poor tackling and execution from the front line helped Blackfoot to the red zone where they were unable to capitalize.

After two quick plays from the Diggers, the Anarchy defense forced an interception and once again, featured consistency for the Anarchy in sustaining a strong drive toward their first points of the game.  Following a few penalties and a tough defensive stand by the Digger defense, the Anarchy were stopped once again.

The rest of the game proceeded with each team driving but unable to score.  After another big play from Angel Anguiano, the Diggers found themselves down in the red zone with two minutes to go.  Following a few tough defensive plays from the Anarchy, the Diggers went with a QB sneak from the 12 resulting in a touchdown.  The Anarchy attempted to drive for points on their final possession, but were stopped by the Diggers defense.  Mini Cassia took a knee as time expired.

Blackfoot’s passing game struggled as QB Treyton Palmer completed just 2 of 6 pass attempts for 59 yards and 2 interceptions.  Palmer helped the rushing game with 36 yards on 4 carries.  WR Dexter Gunter was the lonely target on the day, catching both passes from Palmer.  The rushing leader for the Anarchy was RB Dylan Coon with 106 yards on 9 carries.

Craig Parris and Jimmy Vail led the Anarchy defense with 6 tackles apiece.  Parris also had 2 tackles for loss.  Dylan Coon contributed with 5 tackles and a sack on the day.  Ryan Udy accounted for one of the defense’s two turnovers, as he intercepted Digger QB AJ Hunter.

QB AJ Hunter completed 14 of 21 passes for 231 yards and a touchdown.  Hunter also added 28 rushing yards on 9 carries and a touchdown on the ground.  WR Angel Anguiano led the Digger receivers with 74 yards on 5 catches.  WR Tyler Adams also contributed with 68 receiving yards on 4 catches and a touchdown.  The leader on the ground was RB Robert Calvin with 52 yards on 16 carries.

Alex Salinas led the Diggers defense with 5 tackles.  Jason Dimond and Brogan Thoren had 4.5 tackles apiece, including 4 tackles for loss and 2 sacks from Thoren.  The Diggers defense created their single turnover on an interception by Gerriuh Nay.

This week, the Blackfoot Anarchy host their first home game of the season in Blackfoot, ID as they face the Idaho Mustangs, who were defeated 27-6 last week by the Logan Stampede.  The Mini Cassia Diggers will also host this Saturday as they take on the Logan Stampede in Burley, ID.
